Should, Would, Could vs. Will

by ericuva Fri Jun 01, 2007 5:14 pm

Can anyone provide succinct rules on when to choose Should, Would, and Could vs Will. From what I've been able to glean from grammar texts, the difference lies in the fact that should, would, and could are used in hypothetical cases, whereas will is used in declaritive sentences. A better explanation may help solidify my understanding. thanks

There's a good introduction to this topic on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_modal_auxiliary_verb

Take a look at that and let us know if you have any questions about it!
