:? Should I be worried?

Hi all,

I took two MGMAT CAT exams before my first real GMAT exam and scored 600 and 670. I took the real gmat soon after and only scored in the high 500s.

I decided to take the MGMAT course and now I am in session 5 of the class and have taken two more MGMAT CAT exams. The first one I scored 660 and then today I scored 630. Should I be concerned that I haven't seen any improvement? Could it be I am using MGMAT techniques that I have not mastered from the class and it's affecting my testing? What other factors might I be overlooking? I'm pretty much on track in the MGMAT class. I've read through the material and done the In Action problems. Maybe I need to be more thorough when reviewing my work?

I'm not really sure what's going on and I'm just discouraged to not see much of an increase :(

Any advice?

First, it's not uncommon at all to see no increase or even a decrease at the 2nd test. You're trying a bunch of new things but you still haven't mastered them and you're still slow with a lot of them. Don't worry about that too much.

Do make sure that you are analyzing your work (the problems) in the way that was discussed during class 2 (the "questions to ask" strategy lesson typically done at the end of class). If you missed those, didn't write them down, whatever, watch the tape of the class (on Elluminate if you're a virtual student or on the web site if you're an in-person student).

Finally, you mention having done the in-action problems but you don't mention the OG problems. You are doing those as well, right? That's one of the most important steps - first make sure you know the materials and techniques, then make sure you can apply that stuff to OG-type questions.
