sending scores to schools

by lynncf Sat Dec 26, 2009 5:22 pm

Hi, my questions relate to the option of providing scores to up to 5 schools on the date of the GMAT.

1) is this option recommended? regardless of the score? (i do realize that the option has to be election before the score is calculated)
2) If I do not elect this option on the test date, will I have to pay additional fee to send scores to schools at a later date?
3) I heard even if I do not elect this option, the schools I apply to in the future would find out about all my scores anyway. If that's the case, why wouldn't anyone just elect this option?

Thanks !

You should absolutely go ahead and select the 5 schools for free. It is the case that it costs money after that ($28 per school!) and it's also the case that schools will see ALL of your scores, regardless of when you give them access.

Your GMAT score report is similar to your college transcript - it shows everything and you can't hide any scores / grades that you don't like. :)
