Re: BF: Kaplan

For similar reasons, the second half of answer choice A also doesn't work. At this point, I'd actually be willing to bet money that A is not the right answer. :) Stacey - I'll take that bet :) This is a GMAT question. I just came across it in Practice Test #2. The answer is A. Naughty Kaplan. http&...

Re: SC:is descended or has descended ?

Hi Ron,
I have a question about E, the clause before "and" is in present tense, while that after is in past tense. I assume that the two clauses should be in the same tense. There is no legitimate reason to use present to describe sth happened and finished in the past.
Thanks a million~

Re: The features of the floor of the Kasei

Ron,
Could you please explain why B is incorrect? I assume that "a suggestion..." is the appositive of the preceding sentence.
Thanks~

Ron , can you please explain why 'contemporary turtle species' can't be the antecedent of the pronoun 'their'? "In some contemporary turtle species" is an adverbial modifier of the verb "function" and is not part of the main subject of the sentence, and cannot serve as the antec...

Re: After determining the levels of calcium carbonate

Hi Ron,
I notice the suspicious "present" in choice A. I believe the Verb "present" is inappropriate here, thus A is wrong.
Before you make a comment, I would give myself a slating for doubting the official answer.

Re:

You have to match the non-underlined portion of the sentence (which must be correct because it isn't underlined!). It starts with "when" and the word when refers to a time or date (in this case, a date. That date needs to be placed right before the "when." C, D, and E do not put...

Hi Ron,
I have a question. In B, exploded can possibly modify moon. If this is case, B fails to follow the intended meaning of the original sentence.
Thanks~

Re:

1) usage of "had" is incorrect since the statement mentions only one past event (....lost $7.4 billion....) that happened in 1992. we require two past events to justify the usage of "had". Hi Ron, I have a question. 2001 proved is an past event, while lost $7.4 billion happened i...

Re: The spectacular disintegration of a comet last year in full

Hi Ron,
I noticed that A breaks the parallelism rule, since the part before and does not have the same grammantial form as that after.
