Re: High enough GMAT Needed / Profile Evaluation

Hey Rahul So much to discuss!! I highly recommend you contact us for a free 30 minute telephone conversation. It might be the best way to get your questions answered. It's always hard to evaluate someone's profile without a real GMAT score. Practice test scores generally tend to be "in the area...

Re: Age vs. Work Experience (LBS & INSEAD)

Hey MMM Thanks for your question, and Happy New Year! So it's an interesting question...my thought is that three years of full-time work experience might be the right amount of time to apply for an MBA. Two years is a little on the low-side. 4.5 years is totally fine though and I think schools will ...

Re: Nailed Verbal and Quant but Bombed IR

Hey GregoryL861 Ah the IR score. So the GMAT IR score was added in June 2012. Most schools require GMAT scores to be valid for five years as of the application date. While in the past, I would have told you that the IR doesn't matter too much because not all applicants have it given that the IR was ...

Re: 750 with 5 on IR?

Hello @AaronS736 Congrats on the 750! That is a great score. IR is a difficult beast at the moment. We really do not have clarity yet on how schools are incorporating it (if at all). However, the IR score came out in 2012 so this is the year where pretty much everyone will have an IR score which mak...

Re: Profile eval for MiM colleges

Hi @BudhadityaR370
Apologies for the delay in response. Although we'd love to help, to be fair, MiM programs are not our area of expertise! So sorry we can't provide further expertise.

Re: Community Leadership

Hello @JackH664 Very interesting question and well, the answer is (sorry, this is very Chicago Booth of me) ...it depends... At the library, who are the kids and how are you making an impact? For your mission trip and community center work, do you still keep in touch with people? Have you had an imp...

Re: Local vs. International Volunteer Experience

Hey @WendyY887 I'm less worried about the location of your volunteer work than I am about 1. staying fully employed (important!) and 2. getting involved in a volunteer opportunity that you are passionate about -- where you can make an impact! Those are the types of things i recommend focusing on. Ap...

Re: Profile for B school

Hey @difanc574 Thanks for getting in touch. What an interesting back-story and profile! I think there's a lot here to discuss. My first tip given that you are planning ahead is to try to get a higher GMAT score. 740+. That and your GPA together make you a more interesting candidate. Top 5 is hard to...

Re: 710 GMAT -- should I retake?

Hi @BenjaminK262 Thanks for getting in touch. I love that you are preparing for b-school so far in advance! YES. If you can take the GMAT again and score 730+, that would be advisable. To maximize your chances, you want to come in at higher than a school's average GMAT. For most schools these days, ...

Re: Until when should i have my final score with me?

Thanks for posting. I think this will depend on whether you want to apply in R1 or R2. Personally, I prefer R1 applications so if we assume mid-September deadlines, I like to see a candidate try the GMAT at least twice before application deadline time. Please do not wait until the last minute and o...

Re: Until when should i have my final score with me?

Hey @ShivaniS604
This is one of those detail questions that I honestly wouldn't want to steer you wrong on! Your best bet is to contact the schools and ask if you need to resend your scores with each attempt.
My best,
Krista

Re: Please Evaluate My Profile

Marhaba Michael and thanks for posting. (I spent a bit of time myself working in the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait.) Definitely a very interesting profile and combination of stats and work experience. I definitely think you'd get a lot out of talking to one of our consultants on the phone and suggest you ...
