Re: Prep Questions - Trans World Entertainment Corporation

Hi Ron, I went over all the posts of this question, however I am still a bit confused by the answer A 1, they--pronoun ambiguity is not always incorrect, so I don't think I can eliminate A because of the pronoun 'they' 2, meaning, you have mentioned in the previous post that, "the only thing th...

Re: Editorial: In Ledland, unemployed adults

Hi Ron,
A is wrong because the conclusion talks about supplement and the answer is about assistance?
Whether the assistance is charged tax or not does not affect the supplement, am I right about this?
Thanks

Re: In the year following an 8-cent increase in the federal tax

Hi Ron, can you please explain why A is not right? I got stuck between A and D The argument states that the reason for a drop of sales is eight cent tax, therefore, the pretax price should be equal so that the tax can be reflected at the final price. Doesn't A mean that the pretax price stays stable...

Re: For the farmer who

Hi Ron, thank you so much for the excellent explanation in the thread, however I still have some questions 1, you mentioned parallelism of X, Y, and Z, in this question, all the answers are parallel, as you wrote in choice E, the parallel structures are cool provided with... and milked regularly 2, ...

Re: On account of a law passed in 1993, making it a crime punish

This post is looong, worth the time to go over every single thread of it, I have learned a lot! However I still have a question to A as you mentioned in the previous post 'There's still a problem with comma + "making". Remember that, when comma+ing follows an action, it describes that acti...

Re: Prep Questions - Trans World Entertainment Corporation

as mentioned in earlier posts: • "sales OF xxxx" implies that "xxxx" is the thing being sold. ...so, "sales OF up to 1/4 of the stores" means that STORES are being sold. this is nonsense (no one is selling stores here). • the combination of the past tense ("announ...

Re: On account of a law passed in 1993, making it a crime punish

no, that's not correct. comma+__ing modifiers can describe the preceding ACTION... regardless of whether that action is actually represented by a verb or by a modifier. e.g., both of the following sentences are correct: I dropped the bags onto the floor, scaring the dogs. My friend saw me dropping ...

Re: Ozone, a special form of oxygen that screens out harmful UV

Hi Ron, I have question about the 'it' of AE It was mentioned in the previous post that it refers to the ozone. Thus, to say: "it appeared that it was immune" would be unnecessary. Can't this it be the same function as : "IT APPEARS THAT the dinosaurs WERE smart." ? Between D and...

Hi Ron, can you please advice what is the function of emitting? Is it a V-ing modifier? Or is it just a noun which appears as V-ing?

Re: The Anasazi settlements at Chaco Canyon were built

Hi Ron, I read the entire post of this questions, however, I still have unsolved issue 1, Choice C, other than logical meaning error, the usage of 'each' is not correct. Each modifies the closest noun which is rooms, with or without each, that is an essential clause to modify rooms too, therefore, '...

Re: participle healing problem

Hi Ron, just want to confirm, the usage 'with' in choice A modifies 'sprain' as a noun modifier. Therefore the usage of 'with' in choice A is correct.
Am I correct?
Thanks

Re: Greatly influenced by the Protestant missionary Samuel
