Hello Instructors, I have a small doubt regarding the usage of "cook"/"prepare"when it comes to food. I have always been under the impression that we prepare a meal and cook a food item. In summary, while referring to a specific meal prepare would be the best fit but while referr...

Re: Burton Tool -- Bold Face

Hi Ron, I was trying to approach this problem with the fact v/s claim approach in order to eliminate a few choices. I am clear that the first boldface is a claim due to the use of the word "clearly". However, the presence of indicates in the second boldface made me unsure whether I could c...

Non essential clause

Hi Ron, I am modifying one of my older questions to make it as close as possible to the one from OG . This is a question that I just made up. Chemicals X and Y are formed from the evaporation of sulfuric acid that is heated in a flask and rises high up the capillary tube, condensing in tiny droplets...

Re: Non essential clause

Thanks Ron, Actually I am not one to terminology blindly - apologies if the question presents that image. Actually, long GMAT questions involving multiple commas take a little while to breakdown so I was basically looking for a quick way to eliminate at least a few choices. I have a car, a pen and a ...

Re: Non essential clause

Thanks a lot Ron for such an informative response. I really appreciate the number of takeaways that you have provided.
My problem was lack of clear judgment when deciding between modifier and list, but I have a clear understanding of the two now.

Cheers!! :D :D

Hi Ron/Stacy, I am trying to enhance my RC skills by following your very helpful material (Thursday's with Ron and Stacy's blog) . However, I have one issue and it might sound strange - I tend to get almost every answer in a scientific passage correct (within the specified time limit - at least that...

Re: Breaking Down Complex RC's

Thanks Ron - I have another small question. I read about using topic sentences and how to effectively use them to get the main idea of the passage. Can the topic sentences also be used effectively to answer other questions? So for example if I get this really long passage and I am unable to make muc...

Re: GMAT mocks

Hi Instructors, Apologies if I have posted this question in the incorrect folder, but I was unable to find any topic other than this to post my question. I am planning to purchase the 6 MGMAT CAT tests. Before I purchase, I have a few questions. 1. Do the problems in 1 test repeat in the other 5 tes...
