Overall Study Plan 10 weeks away to the test.

Hello, I am early in the process but when I took my first test before studying and really even understanding how to answer questions correctly like data sufficiency etc....I scored a 570. 3 weeks later I've gone through around 2 books and spent maybe roughly 50 hours of study time and my 2nd test wa...

40 Math 28 Verbal Range, study methods for 5 weeks left?

Good evening, I have taken 3 practice exams thus far and I seem to be stuck with the same scores. My major problem areas after looking at my practice exams is Critical Reasoning and Sentence correction. What are ideas for flash cards or ways I should be studying to boost those two specific areas. Co...

Extremely Low GPA, but other areas are strong

Hello and thanks in advance for your response, During my time in college I did not take academics as seriously as I should've because I spent most of my time working on music. Since i've graduated college I've worked full time as well as worked full time as a musician. At the University of Wisconsin...

2 weeks left and scoring in the low 600s practice tests

Hi everyone, I'm at the point that I feel I know the material pretty well. My verbal scores are low to mid 30's and my math scores range from high 30's to low 40's. I was scoring this well prior to my first Gmat experience and completely bombed the verbal part. I scored lower than I ever did even on...

Re: 2 weeks left and scoring in the low 600s practice tests

Hi Stacey, Thanks so much for the speedy response. Ok I am looking at a score of 660+ anything else is gravy. I have taken all of my exams under exam circumstances. The only slight difference is my exam is schedule for noon and I have taken my exams between noon and 1pm. I've taken 8 minutes breaks ...

Re: 2 weeks left and scoring in the low 600s practice tests

Hi Stacey, Thanks so much for your response. Specifically what to do when you are behind by 2 minutes or more. I will try to use that strategy if I have any issues on my timing during any of the sections. I took one more practice exam since your post and I posted a 660. 43 Math 37 Verbal. The verbal...

Preparing for 3rd attempt in 6 weeks need verbal help

I just finished my second attempt and scored a 580. 44 Math 27 Verbal This time I'm really at a loss for words. I really thought I was doing ok in the verbal section. My last 5 practice manhattan gmat verbal scores were 37, 33, 36, 33, and 36. The last time I scored in the 20s was on my first attemp...

Re: Took the GMAT today.. quite disappointed

I took the gmat yesterday. i scored 44 in math which was very about average with what i've been scoring. But for the second straight time I bombed verbal. I scored a 27. On practice exams I haven't scored below a 30 since my 1st Cat exam. This also happened on my first try of the gmat. I scored a 42...

What kinds of classes should I take to boost my academic app

To whomever this may concern, I went to university of wisconsin-madison and didn't do very well while i was in school. This was about 6 years ago. However, after college I'm extremely focused and would like to show potential business schools that i have the ability to handle business school course w...

Re: Preparing for 3rd attempt in 6 weeks need verbal help

Hi Stacey, I wanted to give you a lot of data so you can make a more accurate recommendation. I took the verbal sections of the last 3 exams based on what you wanted. A few things to keep in mind that were in my head and in general my overall strategy. I feel stronger in critical reasoning and there...

The modifier "where" vs "which/in which"

Hi everyone, I'm confused on the modifier in this situation "where" I thought where is used to modify an noun place. Not a hypothetical place such as a community. In this situation where modifies the word community. Here is the problem. At Shiprock, New Mexico, a perennially powerful girls...

Re: What kinds of classes should I take to boost my academic app

Based on your response I did a lot of searching and signed up for three classes at ucla. These classes as described by UCLA are pre-mba classes and are all quant based. 2 accounting classes and one class called mathematics for management. My question is, provided I get an A in all three of these cla...

A very high math low verbal 640 and progress

Hi there, I just took the GMAT and scored a 640. 47 math 30 verbal. A few questions about my score. Is it better to have a strong math vs a strong verbal? How do admissions people view this score. This is also my 3rd attempt. I have gone from 530 42M 21V, 580 44M 27V to my score now. Does this progr...
