Re: United States Senator Daniel Inouye..

i think "including" is "comma + ing". including should apply to the preceding sentence and it Applies to the subject of that clause.
But i am also concernd that including should modify posts.
i don't undertand why.
Appreciate your kind response.

Re: United States Senator Daniel Inouye..

i have another question.
how "including" modifies "posts", because i thought "including" should just modify the preceding nouns. Besides, the exceptions to the touch rule can't apply to this questions.
thanks in advance

Re: Since it has become known ...

I cannot understand why A is right. I thought it is totally wrong. In my views, the first boldfaced portion doesn't support a conclusion. It is just a fact or result. And this arugument bring us 2 possibilities why would that fact would happen. What's more, the second boldfaced protion doesn't give ...

Re: Since it has become known ...

A and D are very similar. Both indicate that the first statement is a fact and the second one is an explanation for that fact. Ultimately what you need to look at here is what the conclusion is. D points to the wrong conclusion, but A gets it right. Thanks, Tim! Could you explain why D points to th...

Can I ask about this sentence mentioned above? Analysts blamed May's sluggish retail sales on unexciting merchandise as well as the weather, which was colder and wetter than usual in some regions, slowing sales of barbecue grills and lawn furniture. My question is that “slowing" seems have no r...

Re: A mixture of poems and short fiction, Jean Toomer's Cane has

Thanks for your explanation! However, I am still confused about the usage of " being " here, maybe that's because I am not a native speaker. Is "being" used to modify " the others" ? Why not just say " the others are Richard Wright's Native Son and Ralph Ellison's ...

Re: SC: With surface temperatures estimated at minus 230 degrees

I want to ask the part which is not underlined:With surface temperatures estimated at minus 230 degrees Fahrenheit.
As far as I know, the correct idiom is "estimated to be", right?
But, how come this correct sentence uses " estimated at" ?

Thanks in advance!
