General OG Question

In the class we learned that if you answer 50% of your questions correctly and 50% incorrectly, your score gets calculated based on the level of difficulty of those questions. I'm getting 50-60% correct on the very last set of problems on Sentence Correction in the Official Guide Verbal Supplement. ...

When to take GmatPrep practice tests

I'm going into my 3rd week of Manhattan class instruction and have took the first Manhattan practice test. I've heard that the GmatPrep test questions overlap the official guide questions. (Is that correct?) For this reason, I was planning on taking the first GmatPrep test this weekend before I see ...

"Finding the fourth" problem

This problem showed up in my CAT #3. I chose answer D but the correct answer is A. I don't see why #2 can't be considered as sufficient. Can't it be backed out? ================================================ In a sequence of terms in which each term is three times the previous term, what is the fo...

Re: 600 on MGMAT CAT 1- Is it possible to break 700?

Congrats!! It looks like you made this improvement with 2 months of studying. Can you give a debrief on what you did these last 2 months in terms of resources and study methods used, as well as how much time you spent versus the first 2 months leading up to your first exam?

Re: Stuck in mid 600s

I reviewed all 3 mgmat tests to look for patterns where I got 4 consecutive questions wrong. I saw some of the effect you mentioned of rushing through the last couple questions in order to compensate for the extra time I spent on the earlier harder questions. In reviewing the last 10 problems of eac...

Re: Gmat focus question

What I did initially was set up the question stem as a quadratic and then factor to come up with (x-3)(x-3). But I don't see how to solve it using this quadratic method.

Re: 6 Exams for 39 $ Think again they are only 5 exams: Rip off

As a MGMAT student, I can honestly say MGMAT does not nickel and dime its students. It's actually quite the contrary as I will explain below. But to address your point directly, I believe there are 6 exams plus a 7th that is free. In addition, by purchasing just one of their books for ~$20, you have...

Re: HORACIO sets the (tutoring) bar HIGH!

I completely agree. I had the privilege of having Horacio for office hours for 2 months. He is very knowledgeable, helpful, etc. He gets right down to the point and explains everything so clearly.

Server Crashing

Last week during my practice exam the server crashed three times. This morning I did another practice exam and the server crashed once. I have notified tech support about this. The time reset was on Quant problem #15, so I had 75 min left but I made sure to only use the true balance. Time left over ...

Great Practice Test Scores, Poor Showing on Actual Test

Hi Stacy, I felt great the past two months leading up to my test day yesterday. My practice test (which were about once a week in test conditions i.e. breaks and AWA's) were as follows, 690 mgmat, 670 mgmat, 710 mgmat, 700 mgmat, 720(gmatprep), 700(gmat prep). In the last month all my scores were 70...

Re: Great Practice Test Scores, Poor Showing on Actual Test

how did you get caught back up? did you just try to speed up the average pace per question? if so, that's usually not the best way to proceed. the best way to get back on time is to throw away problems (i.e., just guess on them) in areas that are traditionally weak for you. Yes, I rushed through 5-...
