Re: Probability Question. Cant solve :-(

Jamie,
I got this question from the following pdf
http://www.scribd.com/doc/105674344/125-Awesome-Quant-Questions
The que. no. 10 in this pdf is the one.
I know its not from any renowned GMAT prep material, but a good question nevertheless.

Re: Probability Question. Cant solve :-(

I agree that the problem is not clearly written. But could not help wondering about it. Anyway thanks a lot for the reply. I have a doubt. According to your suggested solution, we got a range 0 to 3. So I guess we are assuming that AP can only be integers 1,2 or 3 and not 1.5, 2.4, 2.7 and so on. Sh...

Re: A general doubt on "primary concern of the passage"

ok. for example, heres a passage from one of manhattan tests: Despite its 1989 designation as a threatened species, the desert tortoise has declined in numbers by ninety percent since the 1980s. Although federal protection made it illegal to harm desert tortoises or remove them from the southwestern...

Re: A general doubt on "primary concern of the passage"

Thanks Ron. so if there are statements like: "Experts recommend that reducing industrial emissions can help to solve the environmental concerns. But this is not a practical solution and may just hav to stay in queue unless technological advancements are made in concerned industries" Here t...

Is there an algebraic way to solve this problem?

If the original price of an item in a retail store is marked up by m percent and the resulting price is then discounted by d percent, where m and d are integers between 0 and 100, is the item’s final price (after both changes) greater than its original price?

(1) m > d + 10

(2) m = 1.5d
