Guys - I get stuck as well. The difference is that you are taking one value to be D days and then Y to be D-2. But what if you take y to be D days and x to be D+2. As given in the question ( Machine X takes 2 days longer) So I put Machine Y takes D days and Machine X takes 2+D days......... By doing...

Got it. The equation is correct. 5t^2 -14t-24=0 When ever I see the co-efficient of t^2>1 - I just go for roots of quadratic = (-b +or - sqrt ( b^2-4ac))/2a The mistake I was making before was that the value of c in this equation is not 24 but -24. and that will give one of the roots as 4 and tha...

Tim, The line which reads SPOT 1....SPOT3 are the columns/slots that represent the vacancies for the roles for the actresses. I am flirting with the idea of taking the gmat again in May..hoping to atleast crack the 700 barrier....

Yep I got B as well. Let X be the population of men and women who are at or above 65 years. X= A + B. Where A is men over or at 65 B is women over or at 65. The questions asks wether at-least 10/100 ( A+B) are employed. From 2 we know : 20/100 (A) + 10/100 (B) are employed. So now the question being...
