Re: For a finite sequence of non zero numbers, the number

Questions such as the one mentioned above clearly indicate the "hey did you go through the definition of Sequences" and imprint the idea in your head. Oh also, never be creative and never assume, so if it says "sequence" you may not re arrange it. There are 1000 other questions t...

Re: According to a recent study on financial roles - CAT 1

Moderators- Would like to once again re-iterate as to how Answer is (c). Again the question does mention that 1/3rd of high school seniors SAY that they have significant financial responsibilities. How can an individual treat this as they HAVE as provided by Answer choice (c). I eliminated this choi...

Re: Ratios

Now this is my understanding in ratio problems to make them simpler: Class A- remember students in ONE class/group/club will always share a common multiplier eg:(x) BUT this multiplier cannot be used for another group/class/club. SO. Class B - We use (y) as a multiplier NOW Given: Class A - boys/gir...

Re: marble ratios

BEST WAY TO DO THIS: Bag A - Red:White - 1:3 White:Blue - 2:3 The intention here is to find what is common in this single bag. It is White marbles BUT the ratio (always understand ratio as ="in relation to") in which the white is present is different toward red and blue marbles. Now, first...

Re: If 6xy=x^2y+9y, what is the value of xy?

Guys,

What am I doing wrong (conceptually Iam confused):

Given, 6xy=x^2y + 9y
Taking y common on right side:

=>6xy=y(x^2 + 9)----- y cancels on both sides:
x^2 - 6x +9 = 0
x=3

Plugging value of x=3 back in whats given does not give any logical output for y????

Re: General availability of high-quality electronic scanners -

Guys, Iam new to the forum and after reading the entire page, I quite did not reach any answer. To my head, this is how the passage descends from (IDIOMATIC) ;-): This is a plan question. Several banks "PLAN" to implement new cheques with dots on them not readily identifiable by the naked ...

Re: Concerned about the well-being of its eldery citizens

Hi Ron, Iam a newbie (at or in) (dont know which one sits well) the forum. With regard to choice (D), how can one assume how far back down the line Runagians were in the poverty line?? For eg: If the poverty line in the country says anyone with an yearly income of $1200 or below is under the poverty...

Re: In Kravonia, the average salary for jobs requiring a college

Guys, I find a flaw in the response. (just my opinion, might be wrong) The argument begins by mentioning that ppl with a college degree in Kravonia earn on average more than than ppl working with no college degrees. (Does not say how much more). Now the link - Get a degree to earn more in Kravonia. ...

Hi Ron, question for you (with due respect- I might be wrong).

Where in the question stem is it mentioned that the other industries receive 20 years of patent protection as the Pharma companies do??

What if they receive 10??

The question says however in other industries - !!

Re: CR: Editor: Articles in Gardening Magazine often spur sales

Ok Why is it that choice A and choice c are wrong. Here Goes: The paragraph mentions that Articles often spur sales of plants they describe, PARTICULARLY among people new to gardening - This does not imply that ONLY new gardeners are attracted to these plants. Some experienced are attracted as well....

Re: Scientists have identified an asteroid, 2000 BF19, that is

Hi, To all who may want to understand this in simpler words (purely an opinion): Answer choice C is correct : The use of due to the use of "were" - Assume current space and time. When one wants to refer to the future, we use the word "were" eg: If i "were" Bill Gates, I...

Re: In January 1994 an oil barge ran...leaking its cargo

In January 1994 an oil barge ran aground off the coast of San Juan, Puerto Rico, leaking its cargo of 750000 gallons into the ocean, while causing the pollution of the city's beaches. A) leaking its cargo of 750000 gallons into the ocean, while causing the pollution of B) with its cargo of 750000 ga...

Re: The health benefits of tea have been the subject of much res

Hi, this is my 2 cents "toward" ;) the answer. A medicine, treatment, solution can prevent( again means stop the progress of) or inhibit(means stop the progress of). The use of "and" is incorrect as a solution cannot do both (infact in my opinion this usage is redundant). Again r...

Re: I bang my head on this one 100 times and left with no energy

Hi Sarfraz, Old thread, but for a new reader, thought I would share my understanding on this. I treat CR passages as people talking to each other. Try to sniff out what conclusion is being reached. This passage the author is trying to simply say that the "stores will not stay vacant for long as...
