well i agree with the explanation you have provided,although i seem to recollect a rule that states -use 'like' to compare nouns,noun phrases...
Could you please elaborate slightly on the use and the necessity of the word "that here"!

well harjai the second question is a clear case of the use of idioms.
Elect is always followed by the word to
as in elect to office etc..
so for that particular question ''c' is the best possible answer.
