As a result of the medical advances, many people that might at one time have died as children of such infections as diptheria, pneumonia or rheumatic fever now live well into old age.

a.
b. who might once have died in childhood
c. that as children might once have died
d. who in childhood might have at one time died
e. who, when they are children, might at one time have died

pls help
I chose d. its wrong.

d is wrong because it changes meaning by saying that "many people might have died ONLY ONE TIME" but sentence says that people might have once died(long before they died)

even option "b" seems incorrect; though it is the best among the options

who might once have died in childhood; the "once" is misplaced and is changing the meaning of the sentence
