Unfortunately, we don't answer questions on generic topics via the forums. The topic you're asking about would basically require someone to write down a lecture about an entire grammar topic - and the forums are not the right medium for a class / lecture.
I can tell you, though, that absolute phrases are not all that common on the test. You may not see even one example when you take the test.
If you have questions about any of the individual problems in the strategy guide, you can post those questions in the MGMAT Verbal Strategy Guide folder.
If you look at the Official Guide Problem Matrix in chapter 14 of the SC guide, the Modifiers column will list problems that deal with absolute phrases as the primary modifier issue. I think there are only one or two in the OG.
