Hi,

Question 1: What are the different roles (nouns, adjectives, adverbs, etc.) the infinitive form ("to" + any verb) can play ?

Question 2: Can the infinitive form ("to" + any verb) play the role of a verb ? if so, please give some examples.

this is a GMAT forum.
the purpose is to explore very specific instances of english constructions, as seen in individual GMAT items.

this forum is NOT here to provide general information about english grammar. (yes, this is called the 'general verbal' folder, but that's not what the title means. the title means that this folder is a catch-all for problems from any source other than MPrep or GMAT Prep.)

for questions of a general nature—like this one—
1/ it would be impossible for us to give a meaningfully complete answer within the space of a forum post,
and, more importantly,
2/ you should be able to find good answers just with a simple web search.

i.e., if you just type 'english infinitive' into google and read a few of the top results, you should find everything you're looking for.
