SC Like that accorded to Mozart and Mendelssohn

by atharshiraz Thu Jun 09, 2011 2:32 pm

I have a question similar to the one on page 689 of the explanation of the OG's problem #9 the Official Guide has a similar question:

"#9 (option c) Like that accorded to Mozart and Mandelssohn, Paul Mccartney and John Lennon are often subjected to the kind of veneration that blurs the distinction between the artist and the human being".

The explanation states that:
That is ambiguous, and Paul and John and are compared to that rather than to the musicians.

I thought that modifies the ENTIRE clause "Paul and John are often subjected to the kind of veneration "?

Shouldn't that then refer to the veneration of PM and JJ? as opposed to the artists? I know the above is incorrect (option C is incorrect) but I was a bit confused about how that only seems to be modifying PM and JJ and not their veneration as well.
