Ron made up remainder problems

by wind Thu Jan 24, 2013 9:53 pm

On his study hall November 2011 he gave these 2 problems which I could not solve :

a) If a and b are positive integers and a/b = 87.75 b=?
25
26
27
28
30

b) the set S= 6 consecutive positive integers ,positive integer n =?

1-when each integer in S is divided by n the sum of the remainders = 11
2-when each integer in S is divided by n the remainders include 5 different values

Any clues ??? thanks in advance

We'd be happy to discuss - but please post these in the correct folder. (Also, in general, please do read the forum guidelines before posting.)

Something like this should go in the General Math folder, not the General Strategy folder. :)

Yes I had observed my "careless" mistake by picking up General Gmat folder instead of General math , so I re-posted the same topic there and received replies. I apologize for this mistake , seems I need to improve my GMAT accuaracy :)))) thanks Stacey and sorry again

You can use the search feature to find a discussion of particular problems—search for the text of the problem or for other information from the post desired. For instance, for this one I searched for "study hall 2011" (which is text from the beginning of the original post in this thread) and got this as the top hit:

Happy studying!
