generally, the use of this forum is for the discussion of specific problems. this folder, in particular, is for problems from our manhattangmat CAT exams.
if there is a particular problem on which you'd like advice - or even if you'd like us to generalize from a particular problem - then please feel free to post that problem, and ask for advice related to it.

for questions that are extraordinarily general and broad in scope, though, and don't refer to any particular gmat problem - such as this one - you are probably better off searching the internet.
i typed "restrictive modifier" into google, and came up with several sources for reference. you should do likewise.
these sources, taken together, will give you a much greater understanding than we could attempt to undertake in a forum post.
also note that "restrictive" and "unrestrictive" modifiers can also be known as "essential" and "nonessential" modifiers, respectively. (this will help your searching capabilities.)
