Rescheduled Test Due to Test Center Issues

by nk23 Sun May 15, 2011 1:02 am

Hi,

I was supposed to take my GMAT today but when I got to the test center, the servers were down so the test had to be cancelled. The test center took down our information and said they would have someone call us back to reschedule. I wanted to ask to see if any of the manhattangmat instructors have seen this happen before and if you had any thoughts on when the test should be rescheduled for, i.e. sooner, later? I have no real urgency to do this test and have taken it twice 3 years ago. I have been studying since early March and felt ready to take it this weekend.

Any thoughts will be helpful.

Thank you!

That's super annoying. No, I haven't had that happen to me before.

Think about how much ahead of time you want to know the test date. If they call and tell you that you can come tomorrow, is that okay for you? Or would you rather have a few days' or few weeks' notice? I personally would want at least 5 days' notice, maybe a week, so that I could redo my final review.

Make sure you know that in advance so that you don't get pressed into accepting a test date that you don't like when they call. Same thing for time of day - if you know you're better at a certain time of day, don't get pressured into taking it at a time of day that's bad for you.

Also, if they don't call you back within a week, call them. Let us know what happens.
