Request review of the MGMAT CAT - 1 (2 months more for test)

Hello Stacey,

I recently took a MGMAT CAT and my score was a disappointing 540. :( I have my GMAT test within exactly two months and I am aiming for a 700-730.

I am ready to invest around 6 Hrs during the weekday and 10 Hrs during the weekend and do everything that takes me to reach the target score. I have read your blog posts thoroughly and have prepared a detailed analysis of the test that I recently took. Request you to kindly review this analysis and suggest me how do I go about my schedule to aim the score I want.

I am unable to share the URL with you. It says "You are not allowed to post URLs".

Is there any other way I could share the doc with you or the URL with you. I have hosted it on the G drive as it is a pretty detailed one.

Also, there was a category 5: wrong way too slowly. Now, the analyze-your-CAT article has been changed to have just 3 categories (we decided to simplify things), so make sure to look at the latest:

On quant, I'd call your "worst enemy" FDPs, not NPs. Your percentage correct is a little bit lower and your time is too long (your average time is fine on NP). Plus, two of the five NP question types (combinatorics and probability) are really not important (they're rare).

I'm also concerned about WP because you're taking extra time there and FDPs are also often in story problem form - so I'm going to guess that you're having issues in general with problems in story form. Does that sound right?

For verbal, if you'd cut yourself off faster on all those long-and-mostly-wrong CRs, you wouldn't have had timing pressures elsewhere. So stop going long on CR. :)

You're mostly answering SC correctly even when fast, which is great. Just make sure that you don't cause yourself careless mistakes due to this speed.

I agree that your focus needs to be on RC and CR at this point. Don't even worry about lifting SC right now - it's so much better than the other two that you aren't going to be seeing much harder SC until you lift RC and CR.
