Regarding analyzing mistakes

by ErikM442 Wed Mar 18, 2015 6:24 am

I just finished reading the article on analyzing the mistakes, and read the example of a problem solving analysis.

My question is: Should I write it all down? I mean, thats gonna be a good 2 pages per question I make? The article I'm referring to is "How to Analyze a Practice Problem Solving Question"

Is this just to illustrate what the process in your head should look like, or should I actually type it all down?

No, definitely don't write everything down - the article is to illustrate how the process works. :)

You do, though, want to write some stuff down. For example, you may want to write (or re-write) the work on a math problem in order to practice.

And you should definitely write down whatever your final takeaway is for the problem (or takeaways, if you have more than one). In general: go through the analysis, write down the final takeaway, and write down anything along the way that would be helpful in building / practicing your skills or getting yourself to that final takeaway.
