hello stacey ,
yesterday i took my gmat for the second time and still i got the same score of 550 but this time i got 49 in math but 17 in verbal. I was really shocked when i got that score. During verbal section i dont know what happen but i was not able to find any of the splits in sentence correction and critical reasoning was taking lot of time and RC the passage was easy but half of the question i didnt understood. in manhattan gmat I always use to score more than 27.

I'm sorry you're having such a tough time with the test. It sounds like some stress / nerves might have caused problems too. You mention CR taking a lot of time - did you have timing problems during the test? (Note: you can have timing problems even if you finish the section on time. It's also a significant problem, for example, if you spend too much time on some and then rush on others to catch up - because then you're likely to make a lot of careless mistakes on the too-fast questions.)

Also, what you're describing in the verbal sounds like you were mentally fatigued / burned out. What did you do in the few days leading up to the test?

You also mention struggling to find the splits on SC. How much did you study meaning? What about modifiers? Those two are often harder to spot - the traditional "splits" are a lot more complicated (large parts of the sentence moving around or changing, rather than just one word changing back and forth).

Have you been able to talk to any admissions consultants?
