Ran out of time before confirming the essay question

by akarun87 Mon Dec 20, 2010 4:02 pm

I wrote my GMAT exam today and I got 710 in verb and quant. (not sure if it is good enough to apply for Wharton, Sloan etc.)
However, in the first essay question, before I could click "Yes" in the confirm dialog box, I ran out of time. Does that mean the essay that I wrote will not be recorded? I hope my essay is recorded for evaluation.

Can anyone here throw some light on this.

Thanks,
Arun

You're okay - the exam accepts whatever you'd typed before it ran out of time. :)

And 710 is a great score! That's enough to put you in the running at those schools, though the actual decision is going to be based on other things - essays, work experience, recommendations, etc. (Even if you got an 800 on the GMAT, that wouldn't just get you in to the school. They use the GMAT more as a threshold marker - we want to see at least this score, and then we'll consider the rest of your application.)

Good luck with apps!!
