Question on CR

Hi,

I have a quick question regarding something that Ron had mentioned in one of his CR videos:


a) When you talked about the spectrum of question types -

You mentioned that S/W are one side of the spectrum where you make common sense assumptions and on the other hand of the spectrum you have main idea/ conclusion type questions, which need formal logic.

Here are my thoughts on this:

Formal Reasoning End of the Spectrum (without "MPI") should apply to:

a) Must be true
b) Main point
c) Method of Reasoning
d) Flaw in the Reasoning
e) Parallel Reasoning


Common sense reasoning end of the spectrum should apply to:

a) Assumptions
b) Strengthen
c) Weaken
d) Resolve the Paradox

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Can you also please suggest how to improve timing on CR? I do simplify the argument and take brief notes as the way Ron had discussed and then after understanding the stimulus well, I dive into the answer choices......It takes me about 3:00 -3:30 minutes to solve each question on an average.

It's the same story with RCs ....I am slow on both the sections. I run out of time on Verbal section whenever I take a full length practice test. It's been a very frustrating experience for me with CR and RC. I have gone through all possible strategy books and videos and still my speed is not improving.

I am at a point where I understand the strategy to attack each question type as well the type of wrong answer choices for each question type on both the sections.

Could you please suggest some tips on improving timing on these two sections?

I can't take full length practice tests at this point just because I think it would be better to work on timing issues for these two sections first and then take full length tests. Because I think I'll end up wasting verbal questions since I know I am gonna run out of time on the test.
