Recently, i bought the 6th Edition of SC strategy guide, authored by ur company. While going thru it, i have a doubt regarding the explanation of Practice Problem 13, Pg. 103, Chp: 6: Comparisons.
Q) Although the towers appeared identical, the west tower is the tallest, standing 16 feet taller than the east tower.
My query: since the no of towers being compared is not categorically mentioned, we can assume that there are other towers: namely, north tower, south tower etc. However, the east tower may be only 2nd to the west tower in height, so is the comparison with the west tower in the modifying Ing-phrase.
In my opinion, if we precede the word tower with " two" in the Subordinate clause " Although the towers appeared identical", the explanation in the book holds good.
Please correct me, if I am missing something in the aforementioned example. Your cooperation wud be highly appreciated.
