Firstly let me tell you why C is wrong .
In C - 'they' don’t have any clear antecedent , it may refer back to "˜rights and obligation’ or it may refer back all the previous phrases . Another pronoun ambiguity is with its, by law of repeats as the previous two 'its' refer to OJIBWA SOCIETY this "˜its’ in option C is also referring to OJIBWA SOCIETY and not to resources -the right noun.

In A - those is rightly used as demonstrative pronoun with the noun resources and clearly making sense that the resources are same with the resources mentioned earlier .
Those as pronoun is not preferable if not used as demonstrative pronoun that is if not used with any noun.
