help

by shengfangqiji33 Mon Oct 17, 2011 5:03 am

hi,ron

when it comes to the sentence "suppliers are growing fish twice as fast as their natural growth rate"

i can't understand the use of "twice as fast as" clearly(the comparison).

can i just eliminate the phrase "twice as...as"first and then the setence turns out to be two parts:
1 (before the first as)
suppliers are growing fish fast
2 (after the second as)
in fact,i don't know how to write the second part.

moreover,
what't the connection between the phrase their natural growth rate (after the second as)
and the word fast (before the first as)?

thanks.

i'm going to lock this thread; please post your question on the actual thread to which you are responding. (to do this, press "reply" on the thread.) thanks.
