The Simplastic language has only 2 unique values and 3 unique consonants. Every noun in Simplastic has the structure CVCVC, where C stands for a consonant and V stands for a vowel. How many different nouns are possible in Simplastic?

A. 9
B. 12
C. 36
D. 72
E. 108

watched the video by Ron on combinatorics and i tried to solve this problem by using the slot method which he taught but I couldnt get the right answer...can anyone please show me how to solve it.

this problem is definitely not from the free GMAT Prep software, which is the only source allowed in this section of the forum.

if this problem is from an allowed source, then please post it -- along with a citation of the original source -- in the General Math Questions folder.
