Possible Flaw with the MGMAT CAT test

by sastagi Mon Mar 16, 2009 7:03 pm

Recently, I gave CAT test and when I reached the final answer, before I could think over it, I marked an answer. I did not get a chance to mark the answer confirmed. I had read on a separate forum that in the real GMAT, even if one runs out of time, but if the answer is marked, that answer is accepted, even if not confirmed. However, in the MGMAT test, the software did not accept my final answer, and mentioned that I had not answered in the assessment report. Is that a bug with the MGMAT software or does one have to confirm an answer before time runs out in the real GMAT?

On our test, it doesn't record the answer unless you confirm - not quite sure why, but I assume it was harder for some reason to have the test record the answer even if you didn't confirm it. Sorry about that!

But on the real test, it will definitely still accept an answer if the test times out before you confirm.
