Please Advise - CHOOSE BETWEEN

by tusharsharma1 Tue Apr 13, 2010 3:06 am

Hi,

Please advise what is the best usage of Choose Between?

Is it - choose between x AND y or
Choose Between x OR y??

Thank you!

Please be sure to read and follow the forum guidelines before posting. This post belongs in the General VERBAL folder.

It's a short question, so I'll answer you this time, but next time, I'm going to make you post in the right folder in order to get an answer. :)

The correct idiom is "between X and Y."

Gee, Thanks!

Just another query - so the CHOOSE would not really make a difference?

Yesterday, I had to choose between watching a movie AND going for a swim

is better than (rather the best among all)

Yesterday, I had to choose between watching a movie OR going for a swim

Best

the idiom is "between X and Y" regardless of what verb introduces it.

So, for this question type, if I must chose between The general general folder "and" the general verbal folder, I should chose the ladder!
