Plan to Re-take GMAT

by abhishek.gautam01 Sat Dec 05, 2009 10:25 pm

Hi,

I was a student of Manhattan GMAT and gave the actual exam on 14th Oct.. my score 610 (Q49,V26) AWA 5.0. I was really disheartened just worked hard at office. Now I have again started to realize that I should be starting my prep again, but don't know how and when to start.

My MGMAT scores were:

MGMAT1 - 680 (Q-47,V-36)
MGMAT2 - 660 (Q-47,V-33)
MGMAT3 - 700 (Q-49,V-36)
MGMAT4 - 690 (Q-45,V-38)

GMAT Prep 1 - 690
GMAT Prep 2 - 700 (49,36 approx)

I really don't know what happened in the actual test. Its not like I was nervous or anything, but was not able to figure, so got sad :( and concentrated on something else.

Can somebody from MGMAT please help me start up the fight again and this time I really want to come out smiling and not shocked.

Thanks
Abhi

I'm sorry that you had a disappointing test experience. There are two things you can do.

First, because you were a course student, you're eligible for a free Post-Exam Assessment. This is a phone call with an instructor to figure out what went wrong and come up with a plan to re-take the test. Please send an email to studentservices@manhattangmat.com ASAP and request the Post-Exam Assessment.

Second, take a look at this article to help you figure out what went wrong on test day. Ideally, read the article and do the analysis BEFORE you have your Assessment so that you can provide this information to the instructor who will do your assessment.

I note that your quant score was about what we might have expected from your practice tests but your verbal score really dropped. Often, with a drop of that size, there's something going wrong with timing or stamina or both - take a look at the above article for more ideas about how to figure out what went wrong.

If you want to discuss further here, you can post your analysis after reading that article.
