Pearson Offical Test Center - San Francisco vs. Oakland

by ben_auerbach Tue Apr 12, 2011 5:47 pm

Hi. I am planning ahead to book my first test in June at the Pearson Professional Test Center. The two closest options are Oakland and San Francisco. The Oakland test center is closest to my house. I looked up both centers on google maps and the San Francisco center looks more modern. Does it make a huge difference in terms of facilities, professionalism, ambience at these centers? Should I visit them in person before scheduling my exam?

Thanks.

It may or may not make a difference, and that's mostly a personal thing. What might make a difference for you? Do you care most about minimal outside noise to distract you? Is the look and feel of a newer center going to make you feel more (or less) comfortable? (Most of the places are fairly generic, but newness and general cleanliness might vary.)

If you think that there are some things that might make a difference to you. If so, then yes, you may want to visit the two centers and pick the one you like the best. Note that they aren't going to show you the actual testing room itself - you'll likely only get to see the waiting area and front desk.

If you think it won't really matter to you, then you can just pick whatever location or testing time is most convenient for you.
