is this problem actually from the gmat prep software? this folder is strictly for problems from that software.

* first of all, this problem cannot be solved as currently written -- it depends on the value of s.
for instance, if s = 2, then the answer would be "g"; if s = 3, then the answer would actually be the next letter after "h".
here, i'm assuming that "evenly spaced" means that the distance between each consecutive pair of letters is the same.

* second of all, the gmat is A LOT more specific and more careful about writing problem statements than this. there is no way that any official problem would ever say "an evenly spaced line", for instance, because that phrasing is technically meaningless (a line itself doesn't have a spacing). if a problem like this were to appear on the official test, the problem statement would say something like "the distance between each pair of consecutive points is the same".

therefore, i conclude that this problem is not actually from the gmat prep software, and so we will delete this thread within one week.
