OG stopwatch suggestions

by cutlass Sun May 25, 2008 6:32 pm

First of all, thanks for providing the OG stopwatch tool. It is very useful. I have a couple of simple feature requests that will make it more useful:

1. Instead of starting the count from 1, can you guys take the starting no. as an input?
2. Can you also add a 'Source' and 'Section' input boxes? (I would like to enter OG,MG,GF etc. in the 'Source' and PS,DS,RC etc. in the 'Section' boxes)

I think these two things will help me establish some correspondence between the questions and my performance, when I look at it sometime in future.

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions! Our IT department is already looking at adding additional functionality here but, unfortunately, they have some other items that are even higher on their priority list of things to do so we're going to have to wait a while.

One of the complicating factors for your first suggestion - we can't just do an "insert starting number" item b/c some people don't do questions in a consecutive row. In fact, I suggest that, when doing problem sets, you choose a mix of questions from all question types and different difficulty levels (eg, do half each from problem solving and data sufficiency, then choose numbers 50-54, 100-104, and 150-154 - along those lines.)

I really like your second suggestion - I'll forward that to them!

If you are a student in one of our courses or if you have purchased one of the self-study packages, you have access to the stopwatch through your student center.

If not, you can buy yourself a stopwatch at the store - they only cost about $10-15. The OG stopwatch isn't specific to the OG in anyway - it's just an electronic, online stopwatch so that our students don't have to buy a physical stopwatch (unless they want to!).
