For answer choice E, the explanation is - Phrase must be introduced by a preposition (after), not participle (following).

Is this ALWAYS true? Can I never have a statement like "Following the death of the poet, his wife decided to.. " on GMAT?

Thanks for your help.

btw, How do I keep track of the questions I am asking? I have 5 questions in 5 different areas (MGMAT, OG, CAT..)

:(

Please post the full text of the problem when you post verbal problems here. Not only is the post rather useless to other students if you don't, but we moderators aren't always armed with our OG's when we answer posts.

* The problem is that you can't introduce another -ing construction with 'following'. Introducing a NOUN with 'following', as you have done, is fine.

* You could always search for TheChakra in the search box. If you've posted under multiple names, the best you can hope for is to go through the different folders and try to remember which posts you've authored.
