Official score not received

by Rahul SinghR799 Sun Jan 24, 2016 9:12 am

Hello Instructors,

I gave my GMAT on 6th Jan 2016 and scored 710 (2nd attempt, a big thanks to Manhattan). I then applied, with unofficial score, to a B-school whose deadline was 15 Jan 2016. The problem is that I have not received my official score. I have mailed customer care regarding this, but no response yet. Thus, I have few questions:

1) Is it normal for GMAT to take such long to report official score?

2) As it is taking so long, an anxiety has developed in me whether I had cancelled my score. I also do not remember what option, if any, was selected (report/cancel score). I did receive an unofficial score print on a paper on my test day and it does not mention cancel anywhere. Also, when I log to mba.com , it does not display anything under "status". So, is there anyway to know what has happened.

3) I read in another forum that a good jump in GMAT score puts your report under scrutiny. Is this true?

I really hate GMAC for this, last time when I scored 490, they reported official score within 6 days. But, this time it's close to 20 days, and no sign of official report.

Please help!

Best Regards,

Within 20* business days after your test, you should receive an email with a link that sends you to your official score report. (And you get this email regardless of whether you kept or canceled your scores.) You won't find the official report in your mba.com account - you have to get there from the email link.

Check your spam / junk folder - maybe the email went there!

*Often, the email comes about 6 to 10 business days after - but it can vary depending on how busy they are.

They always reserve the right to examine a situation if they think there may be any kind of problem, yes. And I suppose they might want to look carefully at the records if you jumped from 490 to 710 (great job, by the way!!) in an unusually short period of time. But they have a digital photo and the palm vein scan - as long as it was really you both times, you have nothing to worry about. :)

By the way, the schools don't typically check your GMAT scores right away. Usually, they assume you're telling the truth (because most people do - it'd be dumb to lie!) and process your application. They typically only verify when they've decided to actually let you in - just to make sure you really did tell the truth.

Hello Stacey,

Thanks very much for your response.

I have checked in every folder of my mailbox. There is no such email. Also, on mba.com, when I go to My Account -> My GMAT and then the table "Past Exams", the status shows blank.

I have been trying to contact them, waiting for response.

Hmm - I'm sorry then, I don't know. I used to have a contact there that I could ask about things like this, but she left the company.

I assume you have sent emails. Have you also tried calling? Might as well try every avenue, if you haven't already.

Let me know what happens!
