Not getting score I want and test is in 15 days

by ChristyL64 Tue Oct 10, 2017 11:15 am

Hello!

I am currently scoring about 70 points what I'd like to be scoring, and my test is in 15 days (on October 25). I am curious if it is worth just canceling my exam altogether, and then re-scheduling when I feel as if I'm scoring closer to where I want to be? Do business schools see all test scores upon inspection of your application and how does that factor in to your chances of getting in, if they see a "lower" score?

Hi Christy,

Thanks for reaching out! I just replied to the email you sent us about this issue, so please feel free to follow up with us there if you have any other questions. In short, it will not affect you if you have a lower score on your report sent to schools; they're really only concerned with your top score. Most students take the test more than once, so it won't affect your chances if that's your case--that said, if you have more than 3 recent attempts on your history, that might stand out a bit. So, if you're not concerned about having to pay a new registration fee down the line, it wouldn't hurt for you to go in for the test on the 25th to get a sense of the whole experience, which can help inform your preparation for the next time around. I hope this helps!

Best,
Sam
