No Improvement in Scores

by Thomas Vascetomy Fri Nov 28, 2008 3:02 pm

Hi Stacey,

I just took the GMAT for the 2nd time around and was only able to achieve a 620. My previous attempt earned a 610. I have completed the entire MGMAT syllabus work and have exhausted the OG and CATs.

What do you advise me to do now? I have taken all the CATs and their essays under normal test-like conditions. I don't know what else I can do at this point. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Were you scoring in the same range on your practice tests? Or did your scores drop from the practice tests to the real test?

What were the math and verbal subscores and the overall scores for your most recent tests? What about for your most recent official test?

Were you working on your own? Studying with others? Taking a class? How did you actually go through the material and how did you get help when you hit something hard? How did you analyze the problems? How did you assess your strengths and weaknesses? What did you do to try to combat your weaknesses? Did you build a good ability to recognize what to do with a problem because you could make a connection with a similar problem you'd seen in the past? On which types of questions or content areas could you do this and on which types did you struggle with this?

I'll stop there or I could ask questions all night. :)
