Those are great questions! This folder is actually for questions specifically about the GMAT; the questions you've asked are all about the admissions process. You can copy your post and re-post it in the Ask An Admissions Consultant folder to get a more complete answer to your questions (my area of expertise is just the test itself).
Most schools require at least 2 years of work experience.
The total cost can vary widely - it could be as little as 3,000 USD per year or as much as 50,000 USD per year. Perhaps even more or less in other parts of the world - I am most familiar with the costs in North America.
Sometimes scholarships will base part of the decision on a GMAT score, yes, but it is not typically the only criterion.
