Need help to find out right course for improving my score

by intrepid17 Thu Dec 03, 2009 12:23 am

I have taken plenty of online Practice tests for GMAT . But all my scroes are lying between 590 - 610 . I am still able to improve my scrore in "Problem Solving" section but not able to get more than score of 25 in Verbal section.

I attended 2 online free classes to see they it will help me .But infortunately it does not suit my requirement.

I need a course where I solve several questions - both "Problem Solving" and Verbal and them my instructor analysis the kind of mistakes I commit .The instructor can then help me to improve my scores and we can gradually increase the score.

Please advise me what course should I attend or let me know if I can improve my score myself.

In verbal sections , sometimes I dont even understand the reason of my incorrect answer.

Please advise.

If you want to work with someone who will analyze your individual process and mistakes for every problem, then you are likely going to have to work with a private tutor, as a course will have 10 to 20 other students in addition to you. It isn't possible for one instructor to analyze the individual processes and mistakes of 10 to 20 students for every problem.

Private tutoring is much more expensive than taking a course, but it will allow the instructor to focus solely on you and your strengths and weaknesses.

Here are some articles that may help you to analyze your strengths and weaknesses and review your practice problems more effectively:

If you decide you want to work with a tutor, you should have access to a bio or other information that will let you know the tutor's experience before you officially agree to the tutoring (in other words, you should be able to check the person out and decline to work with that tutor if you don't want to for any reason). In addition, you should have an email or phone conversation with the tutor before you officially meet for a paid tutoring session, and the tutor should ask you some questions about your strengths and weaknesses and / or give you some kind of work to do before the first meeting (for example, an MGMAT tutor might ask you to take an MGMAT test, if you haven't already, so that s/he can review your results before the session).
