Need help on next steps

by claudia.m.gutierrez Wed Mar 02, 2011 9:22 pm

Hello,

I took the GMAT for the second time today and got a 580. I am disappointed with my score, given that I was scoring between 610 and 670 in practice tests and had scored 610 the first time I took the test. I know that what affected my score was my verbal score since I got a little confident there.
Either way, I am not giving up with the GMAT, so I was wondering what you suggest I do next. I have taken the 9-week course twice, so I am debating if I should study on my own, get personal tutoring and how many sessions or take the course again.

Thank you for your help!

I'm sorry that you're having a tough time with this test.

Have you had a Post-Exam Assessment (PEA)? This is free for people who have taken the course - a phone call with an instructor to figure out what went wrong and come up with a plan to re-take the test. If you haven't already done this, please send an email to studentservices@manhattangmat.com and request the Post-Exam Assessment.

If you have already done that, let me know, and we'll talk about things here instead. You'll get more in-depth feedback from the PEA, though, so if you can do that, then that's what you want to do!

Thank you, Stacy!
I had the PEA and got really helpful feedback. I will follow the steps outlined by the instructor I spoke and continue working hard.
Thank you for your reply!
