Need 500 on GMAT HELP!

by cassietoth Wed Jul 06, 2011 6:36 pm

I have taken the GMAT twice. The first time I scored a 410 in Dec. 2010 and today I scored a 460. I had to rush through the last 3 questions in the quantitative section the second time I took the test since I was running out of time. I put in over 50 hours of studying the second attempt at the test, using the MGMAT Math courses, study hall sessions and OG. I can't remember what I put in the first attempt. What can I do to increase my score to 500?

I'm sorry you're having a rough time on the test. I'd like to get some additional detail from you in several areas.

First, in terms of what you've studied so far, you mention taking the "MGMAT math courses." Are you referring to the Foundations of Math workshops? Or did you take our full course, which includes both quant and verbal lessons?

You also mention "study hall" sessions. Are you referring to the weekly half-hour of office hours that come with our regular course?

I assume that you have our Strategy Guides, since it sounds as though you have been using our materials? Do you have all 5 math guides, all 3 verbal guides, or some combination of those?

What have you been scoring on practice tests? Did you take those tests under 100% official conditions?

Please use the below article to analyze your most recent MGMAT test, then come back here and share your analysis:

Please note: don't just share the data; share what you think the data means (that is, your analysis). It's important for you to be able to self-assess. Then I'll tell you whether I agree and we'll discuss specific strategies to target your weaknesses.
