Multiply inequality by a -ve value

Solve for X

1.4/x < -1/3 and x < 0

2.-2x > 2n

Can someone please explain the concept of multiplying by a -ve value and flipping the inequality sign with the above two questions?

1) 4/X < -1/3 => -X > 12 (Cross Multiplying the numbers) and
hence X< -12

2) 2X<-2n => X < -n

Thanks biswas. Yes, basically if we multiply or divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number, we must flip the sign.
