by JaydeepR713 Mon Dec 01, 2014 12:33 pm

Dear team,
Its been more than 3 months i have been preparing for my gmat. Went throught all the mgamt books made notes out of it and practiced the og problem along with the completion of each book. I have my gmat on 11th of dec and I am not at all confidant now as i gave 2 mock test and scored lower than expected.

23/11/2014 mgmat1 : 530 q39 v24
01/12/2014 mgmat2 : 540 q40 v25

I feel completely destroyed as had high hopes on gmat.
I have another few days. Could you guys help me out with the list of topics tested so that can focus more on that.

My target score is anything above 650 as i know my profile will back up my score.

Please guys help!!

I don't want to discourage you but I also want you to have realistic expectations. Most people would need more than about 10 days to lift their score more than 100 points - it would be very unusual to achieve that kind of score increase in that timeframe.

At this point, you may want to think about postponing your exam to give yourself more time to get into the score range that you want. As long as you reschedule more than 7 days in advance of your test date, you only have to pay a $50 reshedule fee.

A more typical timeframe for 100+ point improvement is on the order of 2 to 4 months. It's possibly that you will be able to move more quickly if part of your problem is serious time management issues (more on this below).

In order to develop a study plan, we need data on your strengths and weaknesses and we also need to know how you have been studying (and what has been working and what hasn't been working).

First, read these two articles:
https://www.manhattangmat.com/blog/2013 ... lly-tests/
http://www.manhattangmat.com/blog/2013/ ... -the-gmat/

Think about how what you've been doing does and doesn't match up with that and how you may need to change your approach accordingly.

Then, use the below to analyze your most recent MGMAT CATs (this should take you a minimum of 1 hour):
http://tinyurl.com/analyzeyourcats

Based on all of that, figure out your strengths and weaknesses as well as any ideas you have for what you think you should do. (The above analysis will also include time management issues.)

Then come back here and tell us; we'll tell you whether we agree and advise you further. (Note: do share an analysis with us, not just the raw data. Part of getting better is developing your ability to analyze your results - figure out what they mean and what you think you should do about them!)
