MGMAT Sentence Correction - Worth Reviewing?

by mooncakes Fri Nov 29, 2013 9:55 am

Hey guys,

I recently took my first GMAT Prep evaluation test. I received a 720, but there was a huge discrepancy between my verbal and quantitative scores. I received a 44Q (63rd Percentile) and a 45V (99 Percentile). Now, it's pretty obvious I need to go brush up on my math skills. However, I took a look at what I did wrong on Verbal, and four out of the five questions I missed were regarding sentence correction. I've heard a lot of praise for MGMAT's Sentence Correction, but is it useful for someone in my situation? I understand that quantitative definitely deserves most of my attention, but at the same time, if MGMAT's SC book makes it possible for me to eliminate all my sentence correction mistakes, I might as well capitalize on it.

Thanks in advance.

Your verbal score is already in the 99th percentile (nice job, by the way!), so you probably don't want to spend much time working on that section. You do want to keep practicing, so that you keep your skills up, but you don't really have much more improvement you could make there.

If you already have our SC book, certainly use it to learn about those particular mistakes that you made - but if not, I'd say it's up to you whether you want to invest in it. Your focus will primarily be on the quant side.

Let me know what you decide - and let me know how it goes!
