MGMAT online content

by Santhosh Sat Jan 17, 2009 2:14 pm

Hi

I am planning to enroll for the online content on SC,RC,CR and MGMAT test, on a total that amount to 39+5+5+5 $s . How many questions are there in the question bank individually (SC/RC/CR) and do I get a detailed explanation. Can i take my MGMAT tests more than 8 times by resetting the tests or will it repeat the same questions .

If I have queries on any one of the explanation hosted in the online contents can I get it clarified with any dedicated MGMAT staff or how do I get my doubts clarified . Does MGMAT has any centres in Mineapolis ,USA ?

Thanks
Santhosh

Each question bank has 25 questions. The CAT exams guarantee 6 "clean" tests, not 8 - I'm not sure if that was just a typo on your part. After you take the 6 tests, you can continue to take more, but you may start to see some questions repeated.

There are about 1,200 questions in the pool, so there are enough that you will also continue to see new questions - but the percentage of new vs. the percentage of repeats will depend upon how you've been scoring. If your scores are mostly staying in the same range, you'll see more repeats after you take all of the "clean" tests. If your score is changing (hopefully improving!) then you won't see as many repeats (but you will likely still see some).

Remember that just the act of taking practice tests does not improve your score much. Practice tests are checkpoints, designed to show you where you have improved (or not improved) from the work you did since the last practice test. It's really counterproductive to take a practice test more than once a week - you should basically expect the same score, because you don't do much to improve in only a few days. Also, if you're still early in your prep, I wouldn't take a test more than once every 3 weeks. I'd only do once a week for the last few weeks before the official test.

Hi Stacey,

Thanks a lot for the informations and your advice on how I should be going about the Tests. Just one doubt, in the question bank for RC/SC/CR only 25 questions are available ? or is there a option of resetting them after every 25 questions ?

I took my GMAT (sept,08) and got 650 .I know this is not my caliber, I am capable of getting more than this score . My quant is really at the 99 percentiles but my verbal is at 50 percentiles . I have started working on RCs and SCs . I am planning to take my exam by feb end.Only these practice tests can benchmark my improvement in verbal section.

Thanks in advance

Each question bank has 25 questions. You can take each bank as many times as you want. You actually don't need to reset anything. Once you take a bank, it shows up as a different link - a completed bank. But you still have a separate link to start taking that same bank again, and if you click on that, the system will start a second save file.

Good luck with your study!
