MGMAT CAT

by JSP Sun Jul 31, 2011 1:11 am

Hi,
I wrote my GMAT CAT and scored 610. My breakdown was Q-46 V-29. I 'm surprised that I scored 46 in quant even though i got 17 wrong. Can someone please explain how come i got 46 even after getting so many wrong questions??
Thanks

Hi jaya,
It is possible to get a very good math score and still miss many questions, as long as the questions that you are missing are 700-800 level. On my last MGMAT CAT I ended up with a 770, but still missed 11 math and 10 verbal. However, since they were high level problems it did not hurt my percentile much at all. It is a HUGE myth that you must get almost every question right to get a good score. Wrong! Just get the easier questions right and confine your mistakes to the harder ones.

So congratulations, you are doing great!
