MGMAT CAT database

by rohini.gangapuram Sun Mar 06, 2011 9:28 am

Hey,

I just took MGMAT CAT 1 few hours back. I wanted to know few things here. I avoid going thru questions on forums which are labelled under MGMAT CAT for obvious reasons, but if I see a question under MGMAT CAT 1, can i safely go ahead and look into it? Is it so that the question which was in CAT 1 for some may be in CAT 2 for me? It works out that way or the database is different for each CAT?

Thanks.

The database is the same for all CATs. You will not see any repeated questions within a set of 6 tests. If you go beyond that, you can "reset" the tests, but then you can see repeated questions.

Most of what you learn comes from your review of the problems after taking the test, so you should go over them. :)

Thanks Stacey. I am using your analysing practice tests steps (BTG). Though time consuming, they are fantastic :)

I also wanted to know, can it happen that a question i get in CAT 01 is encountered by a fellow test taker in CAT 02 or vice versa?

Because I see questions on forums citing CAT 01 as source and ofcourse I know I may have missed it if its in the higher range or so, would it be advisable for me to go thru it now that Im done wth my CAT 01 or
is there a chance i may get to see it in CAT 02?

Hope my query is clear here.

Thanks.

Yes! The questions can show up on any test for different students! So don't go randomly reading forum posts about CAT questions that you haven't seen yet, because you might be "spoiling" yourself for one of your later tests!
